Saint Faith’s - raised beds for children in North Dulwich
We devised this multi-layered raised bed for Saint Faiths SE24 on an area of ground next to the church. This multi-use area is regularly used by children to learn about growing, it also serves as a space for men’s groups and outdoor activities. We reimagined the bed as a multi layered ship with plants growing at different levels. We integrated seating into the design to allow for meetings to be located next to the bed and for people of different abilities to sit and work. A raised structure at the rear allows for climbers and taller plants to inhabit the space, giving the bed a dynamic of movement and opening its possibilities in the imagination.
